About Us North West Lupus Group is one of the Regional Support Groups of LUPUS UK. As a part of LUPUS UK, we promote awareness of Lupus to the medical profession and the general public. We are here to support patients, their families and friends. We currently have an informal coffee and chat group that meets in Morecambe, where patients and their families can meet with others affected by lupus. We also hold several virtual coffee and chats during the year. People also gain support and share experiences on our active Facebook group. We also have telephone contacts who have all attended a training course run by LUPUS UK and they are available for anyone who may be needing support. Each year, we hold our Information Day. We invite members of the medical profession to talk about various aspects of Lupus. We alternate where we hold these meeting between the north and the south of the region to give the chance for people from around the region to attend. Our newsletter, the North West Lupus Star is produced several times a year. Not only is this sent out to members, but it is also sent to members of the medical profession and other regional group. We currently have a committee of 13 people, most of whom have Lupus themselves. |
